Hacienda La Esmeralda is a coffee farm located in the Boquete District of Chiriquí Province, Panama. Owned by the Peterson family, this world-renowned farm is particularly known for introducing the Geisha variety to the world. Within the hacienda are four farms: Jaramillo, Cañas Verdes, El Velo, and Palmira. Hacienda La Esmeralda Geisha Washed is a washed-process Geisha coffee grown in the Nido plot of Cañas Verdes. It was harvested on April 7, 2025, underwent 48 hours of low-temperature fermentation, and was dried in a temperature-controlled environment. Hacienda La Esmeralda Geisha Washed earned 98 points and took first place in the Geisha Washed category at the 2025 Best of Panama (BoP) (Best of Panama) Geisha Washed category, where it scored 98 points and took first place. At the auction held on August 7, 2025 (Japan Time), it was purchased by Julith Coffee for 604,080.00 USD per kilogram.
