Hacienda La Esmeralda is a coffee farm located in the Boquete District of Chiriquí Province, Panama. Owned by the Peterson family, this world-renowned farm is particularly known for introducing the Geisha variety to the world. Within the hacienda are four farms: Jaramillo, Cañas Verdes, El Velo, and Palmira. Hacienda La Esmeralda Laurina is a Natural-processed Laurina coffee grown at El Velo. After preliminary drying, anaerobic fermentation took place under low-temperature conditions, followed by final drying under temperature-controlled conditions. Hacienda La Esmeralda Laurina scored 92.88 points and took first place in the Varietal category at the 2025 Best of Panama (BoP) competition. At the auction held on August 7, 2025 (Japan time), it was purchased by Nisshiki Ikka and others for 8,040.00 USD per kilogram.
